Misunderstood?

I’ve been getting a lot of opinions about my track “The Realest”! The title of the song basically explains it. This happens to be one of the “realest” songs I’ve ever wrote. Some feel I went a little overboard with the material, basically the context expressed in the first verse, which states;

“Sitting in an empty room drinking way the pain
Praying to lord above like I won’t sin again
Take all the bull I’m hearing, trap it with a muzzle
Trying to find that one piece to the missing puzzle
But I’m like f**k it
Dark thoughts running through my mind, I’m tripping out
Like here I go again, suicidal on my mind tonight
A lot on my chest, got me here depressing
While mama stressing over bills, waiting for a blessing”

What some fail to understand is that I use my music as an outlet. Everything I said in these particular 8 bars reflects on how I felt at the moment, and I also wanted to focus on saying things that others may feel but have no way of expressing those feelings. I wanted people to put themselves in my shoes, and also wanted others who may be going through the same issues to relate to me on more of a personal level. These 8 bars were in fact the “realest” 8 bars I may have ever wrote. I wanted to come out strong and open the eyes of my listeners. I wanted listeners to visualize what was going on. I wanted to tell a story.

Being on social networks such as Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr, you see a lot of individuals venting and expressing different emotions. I took those individuals emotions and mixed them with my emotions and decided to do what I do best, and that’s to make a song out of it. That’s where the chorus comes into play, which states;

“I’m just a lost soul
Living in this cold world
Trying to find my way back home”

There are a lot of individuals who feel out of place in society. We’re living in a world where people are very judgmental and it’s hard to fit in at times, and it’s even harder to express yourself without being judge by your peers. Everyone wants to be accepted, but it’s not always that easy. We have to find our place in society, and until we do, we’re just lost souls trying to find a direction to take in life. Most importantly, to get people to understand who we are as an individual and not as a stereotype. That’s why I think everyone can relate to the song in some way.

Now that I got that cleared up, I hope everyone fully “understands”!
